Whether you're planning your first visit or returning for another dose of Mediterranean magic, I'm thrilled to share my ultimate guide to the best things to do in Benidorm. From stunning beaches and family adventures to adult-only experiences and hidden gems – I've got you covered!

What makes Benidorm so special? Well, it's one of those rare destinations that truly offers something for everyone. Families, couples, friends, solo travelers – I've seen all types of visitors fall in love with this place. With over 3 million tourists visiting annually, this former fishing village transformed into a holiday hotspot clearly knows how to keep people coming back for more.

So grab a virtual sangria and let's dive into everything you need to know about making the most of your Benidorm adventure. Trust me, by the end of this post, you'll be itching to book those flights!

Must-Visit Attractions in Benidorm

1. Balcón del Mediterráneo

If there's one spot in Benidorm that perfectly captures why we all fall in love with this place, it's the Balcón del Mediterráneo. This stunning viewpoint sits between the two main beaches and offers what I can only describe as postcard-perfect views of the coastline.

I still remember my first visit – the endless blue of the Mediterranean stretching before me, the golden curves of both beaches, and the dramatic skyline of Benidorm rising behind. It literally took my breath away!

For the absolute best experience, time your visit for sunset. The sky transforms into a canvas of orange and pink hues, and if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself reaching for your camera every two seconds. Morning visits are lovely too – much quieter and perfect for that peaceful moment before a busy day of exploring.

Pro tip: There's a cute little café nearby where you can grab a coffee or glass of wine to enjoy with the view. Nothing beats sipping something delicious while soaking in that spectacular panorama!

2. Benidorm Island (Isla de Benidorm)

Just 3.5km offshore sits Benidorm Island (or "Peacock Island" as some locals call it), and let me tell you – it's worth every minute of the 30-minute boat ride to get there!

The glass-bottom boat trips run regularly from the harbor, costing around €15-20 per person. As you cruise across, keep your eyes peeled for fish and even dolphins if you're lucky! I once spotted a whole pod playing in the wake of our boat – magical!

Once on the island, there's a small restaurant and walking paths to explore the nature reserve. But the real highlight? The snorkeling! The waters surrounding the island are crystal clear and teeming with colorful fish. I've visited countless snorkeling spots across Europe, and this ranks among my favorites.

Even if you're not into getting wet, the panoramic views of Benidorm's distinctive skyline from the island offer a fresh perspective you can't get anywhere else.

3. Benidorm Palace

Talk about a night to remember! Benidorm Palace isn't just a show – it's an institution that's been wowing visitors since 1977. Think Las Vegas meets Spanish flair, with a dash of Moulin Rouge thrown in for good measure.

The dinner and show package usually starts around €40, which might seem a bit steep at first, but trust me when I say it's money well spent. The production value is seriously impressive – elaborate costumes, world-class performers, and state-of-the-art lighting that'll make your jaw drop.

Last time I went, they had this amazing aerial silk performer who had the entire audience holding their breath! The shows change seasonally, but they always feature a mix of traditional Spanish performances (flamenco anyone?) alongside international acts.

The three-course dinner is pretty decent too, though honestly, you're here for the spectacle more than the food. I'd recommend booking in advance, especially during high season – this place fills up fast!

4. Tapas Alley (Calle Santo Domingo)

If there's one place that captures the authentic Spanish heart of Benidorm, it's Tapas Alley. Hidden in the Old Town, this narrow street (officially called Calle Santo Domingo) is lined with tiny bars serving up some of the tastiest bites you'll find anywhere in the region.

I still laugh thinking about my first visit – I was so overwhelmed by the choices that I ended up having "dinner" at five different places! From patatas bravas with spicy aioli to fresh anchovies and the most divine garlic mushrooms, each place has its own specialties.

The best approach? Do as the locals do and go on a "tapas crawl." Order one or two small plates with a drink at each place, then move on to the next. Prices are reasonable – most tapas range from €2-4 per plate.

My personal favorite spot is El Meson, about halfway down the alley. Their albondigas (meatballs) are simply to die for, and the owners always remember returning visitors with a warm smile or complimentary chupito (shot).

5. Playa de Poniente & Levante

Benidorm's beaches are legendary, and these two stunning stretches of golden sand are the crown jewels. What's fascinating is how different they are from each other, despite being just a short walk apart.

Levante Beach is what I think of as the "life of the party" – energetic, vibrant, and always buzzing with activity. The promenade is lined with bars and restaurants, there are water sports galore, and the atmosphere is infectiously fun. If you're looking to socialize or be in the heart of the action, this is your spot. The water is shallow for quite a distance too, making it great for families with young kids.

Then there's Poniente – my personal favorite and where I head when I want a slightly more chilled experience. It's still gloriously beautiful with its Blue Flag status and golden sand, but the vibe is more relaxed. The stunning wave-shaped promenade is worth visiting in itself – I've spent many happy hours just strolling along, stopping for occasional refreshments.

Both beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas for rent (around €5 each), and the cleanliness is impressive considering how busy they get. Early morning is magical on either beach – I've had some of my most peaceful moments watching the sunrise with just a few early-morning swimmers for company.

6. Casco Antiguo (Old Town)

Whenever I need a break from the modern high-rises and tourist-focused areas of Benidorm, I escape to the Old Town. This charming labyrinth of whitewashed buildings and cobbled streets always feels like stepping into a completely different world.

The heart of the Old Town is Plaza del Castillo, where the beautiful Church of San Jaime sits proudly. I love grabbing a coffee at one of the plaza's cafes and just watching local life unfold – elderly Spanish gentlemen playing cards, families gathering after church, and street musicians adding soundtrack to it all.

Shopping here is a delight too. Forget the typical souvenir shops (though there are plenty if that's your thing) – look for the little boutiques selling handmade jewelry, leather goods, and authentic Spanish products. I found a gorgeous handmade leather bag here three years ago that still gets compliments!

As evening falls, the Old Town transforms again. The narrow streets fill with the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses as both tourists and locals enjoy the cooler evening temperatures. Some of my most memorable Benidorm nights have started with wandering these streets, following the sound of Spanish guitar to find a tiny bar tucked away in a corner.

7. La Cruz de Benidorm

Want to earn those holiday cocktails? The hike up to La Cruz de Benidorm (Benidorm Cross) will definitely do the trick! Sitting at about 217 meters above sea level, this large cross was erected in the 1960s after a local mission, and it's become one of the most iconic symbols of the city.

The hiking trail starts near the Old Town and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the top. I won't lie – it's a bit of a workout, especially in summer heat. Bring water, wear decent shoes (learned that one the hard way!), and maybe avoid the midday sun.

But oh my, those panoramic views! Once you reach the cross, you're rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree vista of the entire Benidorm bay, the skyscrapers, the mountains behind, and the Mediterranean stretching endlessly ahead. It's honestly worth every drop of sweat.

I like to pack a small picnic and spend some time at the top, watching paragliders launch nearby (another activity for the adventurous!) and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere away from the bustle below. It's also considerably cooler up there, which is a welcome relief during hot summer days.

8. Terra Mítica

Hold onto your hats, thrill-seekers! Terra Mítica is Benidorm's answer to a world-class theme park, and it doesn't disappoint. Themed around ancient civilizations (Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Iberian), it manages to blend hair-raising rides with genuine cultural touches.

The star attraction has to be "Titanide" – a roller coaster with multiple inversions that had me screaming like a teenager! If you're more into atmospheric experiences, "Synkope" gives you that zero-gravity feeling that's both terrifying and addictive.

What makes Terra Mítica special compared to other European theme parks is the attention to detail in the theming. Walking through "Egypt" with its sphinx and hieroglyphics or watching gladiator shows in "Rome" adds an educational element kids actually enjoy. Plus, the Mediterranean landscaping with olive trees and cypress makes even the queuing areas pretty pleasant.

My advice? Go early to beat both the crowds and heat. Tickets are around €35 for adults, but check online for deals – I've scored 2-for-1 offers several times. Also, they often have spectacular evening shows in high season that are worth staying late for.

9. Aqualandia

When the Spanish summer heat kicks in, there's no better place to cool off than Aqualandia – Spain's oldest and one of its largest water parks. Connected to Mundomar (more on that later), this aquatic playground has been a Benidorm institution since 1985.

The first time I visited, I was blown away by the sheer variety of slides and attractions. From the heart-stopping "Verti-Go" (one of Europe's highest water slides where you literally drop through a trapdoor) to the more gentle "Lazy River" where you can float along without a care in the world, there's something for every courage level.

My personal favorite is the "Zig-Zag" slide – those banked curves give you such a rush without being too terrifying! For families with younger kids, the "Adventureland" area is perfect with its mini-slides and shallow pools.

Beyond the slides, what I appreciate is how well maintained everything is. The landscaping is lush with palm trees and flowers, there are plenty of sunbathing areas, and you can rent lockers to keep your belongings safe while you splash around.

At around €30-35 for an adult ticket, it's not the cheapest day out, but with so many attractions included and the option to bring your own food (though there are good restaurants too), it makes for excellent value. Pro tip: wear water shoes – those pavements get HOT!

10. Sierra Helada Natural Park

Sometimes I need to escape the vibrant energy of Benidorm and reconnect with nature. When that urge hits, I head straight to Sierra Helada Natural Park – a stunning coastal mountain range that forms a dramatic backdrop to Benidorm's beaches.

This protected natural park offers several hiking trails of varying difficulty. The most popular route runs from Benidorm to Albir Lighthouse, hugging the coastline with spectacular views throughout. It's about 8km one-way and takes around 3 hours, so plan accordingly!

What always amazes me is the diversity of the landscape – Mediterranean pine forests suddenly give way to dramatic limestone cliffs that plunge 300 meters straight into the sea. The contrast between the developed coastline of Benidorm and this wild, natural environment just minutes away is pretty special.

Wildlife spotters should bring binoculars – the park is home to rare seabirds, including peregrine falcons and ospreys. And botanical enthusiasts will love the unique flora, including some endemic species that grow nowhere else in the world.

My favorite time to hike here is early morning when the light is golden and temperatures are manageable. Bring plenty of water, sun protection, and proper footwear – parts of the trail can be rocky and exposed. The effort is more than rewarded by those jaw-dropping Mediterranean panoramas!

11. Mundomar Marine Animal Park

Adjacent to Aqualandia sits Mundomar, a marine and exotic animal park that makes for a perfect family day out. While I generally approach animal attractions with some caution, I've been impressed with Mundomar's focus on education and conservation.

The dolphin and sea lion shows are undoubtedly the main attractions, and they're genuinely impressive. Rather than just focusing on tricks, the presentations highlight natural behaviors and include lots of educational content about marine conservation. The obvious bond between the trainers and animals is heartwarming to see.

Beyond the marine mammals, the park houses exotic birds, primates, and other animals in well-designed habitats. The tropical bird show is another highlight – watching colorful macaws fly freely over the audience never gets old!

What I particularly appreciate is how interactive the experience can be. There are opportunities to meet certain animals up close and even swim with sea lions or dolphins (for an additional fee). These experiences need to be booked in advance, but they create memories that last a lifetime – especially for kids.

The park is pleasantly landscaped with tropical plants, making it a nice environment to wander through even between shows. At around €30 for an adult ticket, it's reasonably priced for a full day's entertainment, and combo tickets with Aqualandia offer good savings if you plan to visit both.

12. BC Music Resort™

If you're looking for Benidorm's hottest daytime party scene, look no further than BC Music Resort™. This place transformed poolside lounging into an art form, combining swimming, drinking, dancing, and star-spotting all in one glamorous package.

The concept is simple but brilliant – a massive pool surrounded by day beds and VIP cabanas, world-class DJs spinning tunes, and beautiful people having the time of their lives. It's basically a nightclub that operates in brilliant sunshine!

I've spent many memorable afternoons here, dancing in the pool with a cocktail in hand. The atmosphere is electric but not intimidating – everyone's just there to have fun. They often host themed parties and special events, especially during peak season, with some pretty impressive guest DJs making appearances.

Entry prices vary depending on the event and season (roughly €20-40), but usually include a welcome drink. VIP beds and cabanas cost extra but are worth splurging on if you're celebrating something special. The food from their restaurant is surprisingly good too – perfect for soaking up those cocktails!

While it's definitely geared toward adults, the vibe is more about fun than anything too wild during the day sessions. Just be prepared for loud music, splashing, and a healthy dose of people-watching – this isn't the spot for a quiet, reflective afternoon!

13. Algar Waterfalls

About a 15-minute drive from Benidorm sits one of the area's natural treasures – the Algar Waterfalls (Les Fonts de l'Algar). This is hands-down my favorite day trip from Benidorm, offering a refreshing escape from beach life.

The falls consist of a series of cascades and crystal-clear pools nestled in a lush river valley. What makes them special is that many of the pools are accessible for swimming – imagine cooling off in pristine mountain water surrounded by beautiful scenery! The main swimming area has steps, handrails, and even lifeguards in summer, making it safe for families.

Beyond swimming, there are well-maintained walking trails that lead you alongside the river, across charming wooden bridges, and to viewpoints overlooking the cascades. The botanical gardens nearby showcase local Mediterranean plants and are worth a quick visit too.

I usually pack a picnic to enjoy in the designated areas (there are plenty of shady spots), though there are also restaurants serving traditional Spanish food if you prefer. The entrance fee is around €4-5, which is incredible value for such a beautiful natural attraction.

My top tip? Go early or late in the day, especially in July and August, as it can get busy with both tourists and locals seeking relief from the heat. And wear water shoes if you have them – the natural stone under the water can be slippery and a bit rough on tender feet!

14. Guadalest Valley

If you only have time for one day trip from Benidorm, make it Guadalest. This tiny village perched precariously on a mountaintop about 25km inland is like something straight from a fairytale – and the journey there through the valley is half the pleasure.

The approach alone is spectacular, winding through mountain roads with views that get more impressive with each turn. Then suddenly, you round a corner and there it is – the bell tower of Guadalest seemingly growing right out of the rocky outcrop, with whitewashed houses clustering below.

The village itself is accessed through a tunnel carved in the rock, opening into a picturesque square. From there, you can visit the castle remains, various small museums (there's everything from a miniature house museum to a medieval torture exhibition!), and shops selling local crafts and products.

But the real star is the view – looking out across the turquoise reservoir and surrounding mountains is simply breathtaking. I always make time to have lunch on one of the restaurant terraces overlooking this panorama. The local cuisine is excellent, with many places serving traditional mountain dishes like slow-cooked rabbit with garlic.

Entrance to the village itself is free, though the castle and museums charge small entry fees (€3-4 each). It gets very busy in summer, so again, earlier visits are better. Public buses run from Benidorm, but joining an organized tour or renting a car gives you more flexibility to explore the surrounding valley too.

15. Benidorm Nightlife

No guide to Benidorm would be complete without mentioning its legendary nightlife! Whether you're after sophisticated cocktail bars, British-style pubs, or clubs pumping until dawn, this city knows how to party after dark.

The main nightlife zones are split between the "English Square" (also known as Rincon de Loix) and the Old Town, each offering quite different experiences. The English Square is exactly what you might expect – lively bars with familiar brands, tribute acts, karaoke, and reasonable prices. It's unpretentious fun that goes until the early hours.

The Old Town, meanwhile, offers a more varied and sometimes sophisticated scene. You'll find everything from traditional Spanish bars serving late-night tapas to stylish cocktail lounges and LGBTQ+ venues with fabulous cabaret shows.

For serious club-goers, venues like Pacha Benidorm bring Ibiza vibes with international DJs and production values to match. KU Benidorm (formerly KM) is another legendary spot with multiple rooms playing different music styles. Most clubs don't really get going until after midnight and stay open until 6 am or later.

What I love about Benidorm's nightlife is how inclusive it feels – you'll see everyone from 18-year-olds to retirees enjoying themselves without judgment. Dress codes are generally relaxed except in the fancier clubs, and drink prices (while higher than daytime) remain reasonable by European resort standards.

Safety-wise, I've always felt secure even in the busiest areas, but the usual precautions apply – stay aware of your surroundings, keep valuables secure, and look out for friends.

Best Activities for Adults

1. VIP Beachfront Bottomless Brunch

Move over boring breakfasts – bottomless brunch has arrived in Benidorm, and it's taken the adult holiday experience to fabulous new heights! Several beachfront venues now offer this indulgent mid-morning experience, combining unlimited drinks with gourmet food and often entertainment.

My favorite has to be at Tiki Beach Bar on Levante – their Sunday brunch includes two hours of free-flowing cava, mimosas, and beer alongside a substantial menu of both breakfast and lunch options. The beachfront setting is unbeatable, with those million-dollar views of the Mediterranean while you sip your endless bubbles.

Another great option is Morgan's Tavern, which adds a live DJ and sometimes saxophone players to create that perfect holiday vibe. Their food options tend to be more international, while maintaining excellent quality.

Prices typically range from €30-45 per person depending on the venue and package, which might seem steep at first glance but actually represents excellent value when you consider the quantity of drinks, food quality, and prime locations.

Brunches typically run from around 11am to 1pm, making them the perfect bridge between a lazy morning and beach afternoon. Just remember to book in advance – these experiences have become incredibly popular and spots fill up quickly, especially during peak season!

2. Sunset Catamaran Cruise

There's something undeniably romantic about sailing along the Costa Blanca coastline as the sun begins its dramatic descent into the Mediterranean. Benidorm's sunset catamaran cruises deliver this experience with style, offering one of the most memorable evenings you can have during your stay.

These cruises typically depart from Benidorm harbor about 2 hours before sunset, taking you along the coastline with its dramatic cliffs and coves. Most include a stop for swimming in a secluded bay – there's something magical about floating in the open sea with Benidorm's skyline in the distance.

As sunset approaches, the crew serves drinks (usually included in the price) and often a light dinner or substantial snacks. The moment when the sun finally dips below the horizon, painting the sky in impossible shades of pink and orange, never fails to draw appreciative gasps from everyone on board.

Various operators offer slightly different experiences, from intimate sailing boats that take just 8-12 people to larger catamarans with DJ entertainment and more party vibes. Prices typically range from €45-70 per person depending on the boat size and inclusions.

I'd recommend booking this experience for early in your trip – if the weather doesn't cooperate, you'll have time to reschedule. And don't forget a light jacket even in summer, as it can get breezy on the water after sunset.

3. Tandem Paragliding

For the ultimate adrenaline rush combined with breathtaking views, tandem paragliding over Benidorm is hard to beat! I finally worked up the courage to try this on my last visit, and it instantly became one of my all-time favorite holiday experiences.

Taking off from the mountains behind Benidorm, you'll be securely harnessed to an experienced pilot who does all the hard work while you simply enjoy the ride. After a brief running start, the thermal updrafts catch the canopy, and suddenly you're airborne – floating peacefully hundreds of meters above the earth.

The sensation is nothing like I expected – rather than the stomach-dropping feeling of a rollercoaster, paragliding feels serene and almost meditative. You're gently gliding through the air with panoramic views of the entire coastline, the city's distinctive skyline, and the mountains beyond.

Most flights last 15-20 minutes, though this can vary depending on wind conditions. Pilots often offer to perform some gentle acrobatic maneuvers if you're feeling adventurous (entirely optional – I chickened out!). They'll also take photos or videos of your experience for an additional fee.

Flights cost around €80-120, which includes transportation to the launch site, all equipment, and instruction. No experience is necessary, though there are weight restrictions for safety reasons. Several operators work in the area, with Fly Paragliding Benidorm and Perfecto Vuelo being well-established options with excellent safety records.

4. Tipsy Cocktail Masterclass

One of my favorite recent discoveries in Benidorm is the trend of cocktail masterclasses – the perfect activity for a group of friends or couples looking for something fun and different from the usual beach day.

Several venues now offer these interactive sessions, typically lasting 1.5-2 hours, where professional mixologists teach you to make 3-4 different cocktails. You not only learn the techniques and recipes but get to drink your creations too – which naturally means the classes get progressively more entertaining as they go on!

Flamingo Benidorm offers one of the best masterclasses in town, with a stunning rooftop setting and high-quality ingredients. Their mixologists share fascinating stories about each cocktail's history while demonstrating proper techniques for shaking, stirring, and garnishing.

The Tiki Lounge takes a more theatrical approach, focusing on elaborate tropical drinks with fire elements and exotic garnishes. Their classes include tapas pairings, which is a smart move given how quickly the alcohol can sneak up on you!

Prices typically range from €35-50 per person, including all ingredients and usually some snacks. Some venues also give you recipe cards to take home, though after a few strong concoctions, your memory of the precise measurements might be a bit fuzzy!

These classes make for great social experiences – I've made friends with other participants during nearly every class I've attended. Just be sure to book in advance, as they're popular and spaces are limited.

5. Winery Tour & Wine Tasting

Many visitors don't realize that just a short drive from Benidorm lies the excellent wine region of Alicante, with vineyards producing distinctive Spanish wines well worth discovering. Several tour operators now offer half or full-day excursions from Benidorm to explore this lesser-known aspect of Costa Blanca.

My favorite tour visits Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, a family-run winery about 20 minutes from Benidorm that produces exceptional reds from Monastrell grapes. Their guided tour takes you through the entire wine-making process, from vineyard to cellar, followed by a tasting of 4-5 different wines accompanied by local cheeses and olive oil.

For a more comprehensive experience, some tours visit multiple wineries and include a stop at the charming town of Villena with its impressive castle, or the pretty village of Jalón, known for its Saturday morning raisin market and sweet Moscatel wines.

These tours typically cost €45-80 per person, depending on the number of wineries visited and whether lunch is included. Transportation is provided, which is definitely a plus given the sampling involved!

Even if you're not a serious wine enthusiast, these tours offer a wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful rural landscapes surrounding Benidorm and experience authentic Spanish culture beyond the beaches and bars. The contrast between the bustling resort and the tranquil vineyards makes for a refreshing change of pace.

6. Buggy or Quad Adventures

For those seeking dusty, dirty fun beyond the beach, Benidorm's surrounding mountains offer perfect terrain for buggy and quad bike adventures. These guided tours let you explore rugged landscapes inaccessible to regular vehicles while enjoying an adrenaline rush at the wheel.

Marco Polo Expeditions runs one of the most professional operations, offering tours of varying lengths from 2 hours to full-day experiences. Their routes take you through pine forests, dry riverbeds, and mountain trails with spectacular viewpoints over the Mediterranean.

The buggies are typically 2-seater vehicles with roll cages and safety harnesses, making them suitable even for those with no off-road driving experience. Quad bikes are single-rider and require a bit more physical strength to handle but offer an even more immediate connection to the terrain.

What I love about these tours is how quickly you transition from the developed resort areas to feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere. The guides stop at scenic spots for photos and share interesting information about the local ecology and history.

Be prepared to get dirty – dust and mud are part of the experience! Tour operators provide helmets and goggles, but I recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting grimy and closed shoes. Most tours include a mid-way stop for refreshments at a traditional Spanish village or viewpoint.

Prices start at around €70 per person for shorter trips, with discounts often available for couples sharing one vehicle. You'll need a valid driving license for both buggies and quads, and age restrictions apply (usually 18+ to drive, younger as passengers).

Weekend Itinerary in Benidorm

Friday Afternoon

You've arrived in Benidorm, checked into your accommodation, and the weekend stretches gloriously ahead! After the journey, I always recommend starting with something relaxing yet immediately immersive in the Benidorm experience.

Head straight to Levante Beach for your first taste of that famous Mediterranean coastline. Feel the golden sand between your toes, take a refreshing dip in the sea, and begin to unwind. The promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll to orient yourself and absorb the vibrant atmosphere of the town.

As afternoon turns to evening, make your way to the Old Town for dinner. Tapas Alley (Calle Santo Domingo) is the ideal introduction to Spanish cuisine – try El Mesón for authentic small plates in a charming setting. Order a few classics like patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp), and a refreshing glass of Albariño wine or sangria.

After dinner, take a gentle walk to the Balcón del Mediterráneo to catch the last light of day over the bay – the perfect serene moment to contrast with the livelier days ahead.

Saturday Morning

Rise and shine! Today's your full day to experience Benidorm's famous attractions. After breakfast, head to either Terra Mítica theme park or Aqualandia water park (choose based on your preference and the weather).

If you've opted for Terra Mítica, arrive for opening time (usually 10:30am) to beat the queues for popular rides like Titanide and Flight of the Phoenix. The park is divided into themed zones representing ancient civilizations, so you can explore Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Iberia while enjoying world-class roller coasters and attractions.

If Aqualandia is more your style, again, early arrival is key. Start with the big-ticket slides like Verti-Go before they develop long queues, then progress to more relaxed attractions as the day heats up. The wave pool is a great midday option when you need a break from the more intense experiences.

Both parks have good dining options on-site, though they can be pricey. I usually opt for a substantial breakfast and bring water and snacks to supplement a lighter lunch at the park.

Saturday Afternoon

After a morning of thrills, spend your afternoon exploring Benidorm's Old Town. This charming district offers a completely different perspective on the resort, with its whitewashed buildings, narrow streets, and authentic Spanish character.

Start at the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, a beautiful blue-domed building offering a moment of cool tranquility. From there, wander the surrounding streets, popping into boutiques and craft shops. The area around Calle Dos de Mayo has some lovely independent stores perfect for picking up souvenirs more interesting than the usual tourist fare.

Grab a coffee and sweet treat at one of the traditional cafés in Plaza Mayor, where you can watch the world go by in this hub of local life. If you're interested in local history, the small but informative Museo de Historia de Benidorm provides context on how this former fishing village transformed into an international tourism phenomenon.

As the afternoon progresses, make your way to the Balcón del Mediterráneo for sunset. This iconic viewpoint between Levante and Poniente beaches offers spectacular panoramic views of the coastline and is absolutely magical as the sun goes down, casting a golden glow over the Mediterranean.

Saturday Evening

Saturday night is when Benidorm truly comes alive! For a special evening, book ahead for the dinner show at Benidorm Palace. This Vegas-style spectacular combines excellent entertainment with a decent three-course meal and drinks package. Shows typically start at 8:30pm, but arriving earlier allows you to enjoy pre-show entertainment in the bar areas.

If cabaret isn't your style, the Old Town offers countless dining options for all budgets. For something special, try La Cava Aragonesa for excellent Spanish cuisine in an atmospheric setting, or Casa Toni for superb seafood.

After dinner, it's time to experience Benidorm's legendary nightlife! The English Square (Rincon de Loix) is home to many familiar-style bars with tribute acts and karaoke, while the Old Town offers more varied venues including stylish cocktail bars like Heartbreak's and authentic Spanish establishments.

For serious clubbing, venues like Pacha and KU don't really get going until after midnight and stay open until the early hours. Many offer themed nights and international DJs during peak season.

Sunday Morning

After Saturday night's festivities, a more relaxed final morning might be welcome! If you're feeling energetic, a morning hike in Sierra Helada Natural Park offers stunning coastal views and fresh mountain air. The trail from Benidorm to the Albir Lighthouse takes about 3 hours round trip and provides spectacular photo opportunities.

For something less strenuous, head to Poniente Beach, generally quieter than Levante and perfect for a peaceful morning swim. The beautiful promenade with its wave-like structure makes for a pleasant stroll, with plenty of cafés for breakfast or brunch with sea views.

Alternatively, if you have transportation, a morning trip to the Algar Waterfalls offers a completely different environment. These beautiful natural cascades with crystal-clear swimming pools are about 15km from Benidorm and make for a refreshing final excursion before departure.

Wherever you spend your morning, save some time for a final leisurely lunch. La Cava Aragonesa in the Old Town serves excellent paella (order the seafood version for an authentic taste of the region), or try one of the chiringuitos (beach bars) on Poniente for fresh seafood with sand between your toes – the perfect way to end your Benidorm weekend!
